Background
Route One was appointed on behalf of the Berners-Allsop Estate to advise on Party Wall related matters in connection with the demolition of two six-storey structures and the redevelopment of the site to provide a new seven-storey mixed-use scheme including 22,000 sq ft of offices and 5,300 sq ft of retail and restaurant space.
Challenges
With multi-occupied properties on all sides of the development site, it was key to ensure the Party Wall process was started early—while designs were still being finalised—to avoid any potential delays to the commencement of works.
Outcome
Route One’s proactive approach ensured that 10 Party Wall Awards were successfully agreed and in place prior to works commencing.
