Background

Historically Route One has been instructed on a number of Barclays Bank branch refresh schemes, working alongside their preferred contractors on over 12 branches across the UK.

Our instructions and general involvement included assisting during the initial design phase to assess the impact of proposed works under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, particularly where adjoining owners or leaseholders were involved within shared premises.

Challenges

Projects often involved very tight timescales. Route One was regularly required at short notice to:

• Review schemes for Party Wall implications
• Prepare and serve necessary notices
• Negotiate and agree Party Wall Awards

All actions were generally required ahead of fixed start dates, demanding a responsive and practical approach.
